Not only do they make the best grilled chese sandwiches ever, but they are thankfully open bright and early every weekday morning so that us unlucky students with 8 AM classes can equip ourselves with caffeine. I, like many of my peers, am a bit sluggish in the morning and find it difficult to function until I've had a cup full of some caffeinated drink. Tea, coffee, cappuccino, anything to get the blood flowing.

But it's not even just the caffeine; you can really get that anywhere. The best part of The Grill are the employees who are chipper and friendly every morning. I figure, these people are up even earlier than I am every day and they've managed to put a little spring in their step, so why can't I? I love that someone else's good mood can put me into a good mood as well. And I need to be put into that good mood every morning because the days are becoming longer and longer (or at least seem to be).

As this semester goes on, I've noticed a steady increase in the amount of work that's on my plate. Currently, I am working on three separate group projects, studying for two upcoming tests, and finishing up a take-home exam. How did this happen? I need more hours in the day! Or maybe I actually just need cappuccino every morning. It seems to be working well for the time being.

On a side note, have you noticed that the weather seems to be a bit backwards lately? I mean October was cold and kind of miserable and November has been fantastic. In fact, yesterday I saw a couple of guys walking through the quad who were actually wearing SHORTS. I think the weather is nice but not exactly warm enough for shorts. But I suppose there weren't many opportunities to wear shorts this past summer, so why not wear them in this balmy, November weather? Take care!

Tara

Hometown: Faribault, MNMajor: EntrepreneurshipYear: SeniorHobbies: National Residence Hall Honorary, Theology Club, Globally Minded Student Association
Mon Nov 02 11:18:02 CST 2009

Hello all and happy November! I had a great fall break weekend, the highlight being Scream Town in Chaska. My roommate and I decided to drive all the way to Chaska on a whim, hoping this thing would be fun and it certainly was. Very scary but tremendously fun. It was weird, though, when we got home and I checked my phone for the time and realized we'd gained an hour. Yep. I forgot about daylight savings. But what a pleasant surprise, huh? I don't mind falling back an hour, what I mind is springing forward in the spring.

I love November. I was telling my roommate the other day that I think November might be my favorite month of the year. Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday and it usually starts snowing in November and although it is pretty hectic, shopping on Black Friday is kind of fun. An added bonus to the cooler weather is that I get to wear my winter jacket, which I also love.

Since we are speaking of things that I love, let me tell you about this awesome tool I've been using a lot lately. If you haven't already visited http://www.TommieMedia.com, DO IT! It's constantly updating on the goings on of UST and I keep coming across really interesting things I wouldn't normally hear about. Like today I found out Up Til Dawn extended their registration by a few days, giving me more time to pull a last minute team together hopefully.

Oh, one last thing. I was thinking about where I was a year ago and came across this picture...

As you may recall, this pic was featured in one of my blog posts a year ago. It is my absolute favorite picture from the entire semester and I thought I'd share it with you again.

Take care!
Tara

Tara's Blog
http://blog.stthomas.edu/tara/archives/2009/11/hello_november.html?WT.mc_id=TBRSS"}]);
