Currently, I practice franchise and distribution law at Gray Plant Mooty, focusing on the transactional side, but also continuing in some aspects of franchise litigation. Prior to joining Gray Plant Mooty, I worked for two years in U.S. Senator Amy Klobuchar's office in Washington, DC as a legislative assistant and a senior advisor. In Senator Klobuchar's office, I handled business, economic, tax, housing, and consumer protection issues, drafting legislation and policy for the Senator for both the Commerce Committee and Joint Economic Committee. Throughout 2008, Iworked extensively on the drafting and passage of the Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act (CPSIA). I've been working on compliance documents and advice on the Act for several franchise and distribution clients. Immediately after graduating from law school, I served as a law clerk for the Honorable Patrick J. Schiltz of the U.S. District Court--for whom I served as a research assistant throughout law school.
